Compost Tea Application

What is Compost Tea...

Compost Tea is a “brewed” liquid solution that is applied to the soil. It consists of composted organic matter, earth warm castings, sea weed extracts, molasses, and water. The brewing process harnesses beneficial nutrients and microbial bacteria (microbes), which in a liquid form, are easily taken up by the soil.

Why Compost Tea?

Compost tea is loaded with microbes. Microbes are very important because they break down organic matter in the soil. In return, plant roots are able to take up more nutrients from the broken down organic matter, which would not have been as easily available to them, if it wasn’t for the microbes.

How To Make Compost Tea

The compost tea is made by combining organic matter and earth worm castings in a mesh bag. This mesh bag is then placed in un chlorinated water and is oxygenated for 24 hours. After the 24 hours, sea weed extracts, kelp, and molasses are added to the mixture. It is then stored in a large container and kept aerated until the application process occurs.
